Your Lawn’s Make-It or Break-It Season—Fall?

OCTOBER 2, 2015

Most homeowners spend a lot of time working on their yard once spring arrives, allowing them to finally get outside in the sunshine after a long winter. However, according to the National Association of REALTORS® consumer-facing site HouseLogic, the time you should really focus on that lawn work is now.  While fall yard work isn’t as much fun as in the spring (ugh, winter ALREADY?), it is necessary. Focus on aeration to give your lawn a break and allow room for new grass to spread; seeding your lawn because turf roots grow in the fall and winter; fertilization to help your grass survive a harsh winter (especially important for those facing brutally cold winters); and mulching to protect your grass from particularly harsh winter elements.
